A charming rambling old pub. Full of narrow corridors with secret passages and nooks for incandescent rendez-vous! Also a garden with wild ducks and chickens running care free amongst the dining tables. Traditional pub food – excellent for a Sunday roast followed by a walk to the nearby St Pancras Church – the Cathedral of the Moor because of its 120 foot tower and large congregation that it can hold . The church service is at 10.30 on a Sunday. A great place to come for your Christmas Carol service if you are here for Christmas. The church is open most days for visitors. Do not forget to stroll through the churchyard/graveyard which is in an amazing moorland setting with ancient granite tombestones. Every Thursdays there is the opportunity to see the local craft fair in the village town hall next to the church.
