The Teignbridge Canoe and Kayak Club has 75 to 100 members of all ages. Numbers fluctuate through the year.
All disciplines of canoeing and kayaking are practised at some time during the year including White Water, Sea Kayaking, Surf Kayaking and Open Canoeing.
At weekends members of the club organise trips on the River Dart and other local rivers as well as some further afield.
During the summer – (Where we meet).
The club meets at the Jubilee Shelter, East Cliff walk (under the Teign Corinthian Yacht Club) on Wednesday evenings, 6pm to 6.30pm. Kayaks are carried down to the beach and the evenings activities are decided depending on conditions. This is also an opportunity to try out the Sea and Surf Kayaks, Sit-on-Tops and Open Canoes.
Weekend trips are organised by club members. Annual trips to the River Tryweryn and River Usk in Wales as well as the Surf Weekends to Gwithian in Cornwall and to Ireland!
